about me

I am a mother of 2 teenagers who are very picky eaters and a toddler who is just figuring out what he actually likes to eat. What one likes the other hates. Go figure . I learned to cook growing up in Louisiana. My mother had hand me down recipes from many generations back. I now live in Northern Idaho and love it! My friends up here love my cooking because of the flavors. My very first cookbook was my Grandmothers 'Joy of Cooking', now I have a more current version of it and use it often. That and 'Better Homes and Gardens New Cookbook' are my favorites. I know they are basic but you have to start somewhere! Many things I make, I do on the fly...I don't follow recipies, I just throw things together. So many of my recipies here, please feel free to play with. Change to fit your tastes. And have fun!

Favorite Foods:

Gosh, where to start? Spicy foods are a favorite. I suppose that is from my upbringing. I love to try different things. It helps me to see what is out there! Oh Indian food is the best! I love curry and other spices. My brother-in-law is the most amazing cook. He comes from Africa and everything he has ever made has been excellent. Now just to weasle the recipes off of him so I can post them for everyone!
