about me

I'm married to a wonderful man, totally in love for over 20 years and with each passing day it only gets better. We have 2 fantastic kids, but only our son still lives at home; he's almost 10. I guess that's what you get for having your children 14 years a part.
On October 11th, 2007 we were thrilled to welcome into the world our first Grandson Julian; he's a sweetheart and already has won over this Nanny's heart.

I love to check out new recipes, especially ones that freeze well. Having the freezer stocked with choices means my DH can just grab & go; he's a Conductor on the railroad and the engines are equipped with a hot plate and an oven. I just buy tin take-out dishes with lids and fill them with his favorite foods from stews to turkey dinners, etc.

My favorite cookbooks are the ones you buy from schools, clubs, church groups, etc. where everyone has submitted their favorite recipes. I know that's why finding Recipe Zaar with the help of my sister was such a find. Tried and true is the only way to cook.

Favorite Foods:

My favorite food or I should say my demise would be sandwiches. Although if I'm going out to dinner, a nice prime rib Au jus and some kind of seafood or a good Chinese smorg. is a must.
I don't have any favorite dish to cook but I have a whole lot of favorite fans who love to eat what I cook. Railroaders tend to have long lay-overs and they all know when dinner is happening at our house. I've had so many of them tell me that my dishes are famous up and down the line. Lol.
Making smiles to me, is what cooking is all about.
