Thanks Mom (Jackiean) for the Premium Membership!

I just wanted to say that in my time on the Zaar, I've had back surgery, graduated college, and became a teacher. All that, and I'm still addicted to this site - you know it's something special then!

A little about me....

I teach 3rd Grade and absolutely love it - teaching is my biggest passion. I've been happily married for four years and counting. Cooking IS my favorite hobby. I love finding quick & healthy recipes here. It's such a stress relief to prepare and eat a yummy home-cooked meal.

We recently relocated a small East Texas town from the big D. (Dallas) It has been quite a change, but we are loving it. It is so peaceful here, I love looking up to see the gorgeous trees rather than a man-made skyscraper! [and the only thing I really miss so far is having a Starbucks < 5 minutes away.... ]

I not only have beautiful trees surrounding my home...

Favorite Foods:

I love watching the Food Network for inspiration. My favorite chef to watch is Ina Garten - although if I make any of her recipes, I usually lighten them up.

I LOVE Mexican food. I could eat it every day and not get tired of it, but DH won't let me! I love unique coffee drinks, especially iced. I love cheese - every and any kind except for blue. I love fresh fruit and veggies.

DH could live on meat & potatoes alone... BUT we've really been making a commitment to eat healthier this year so alot of the recipes I make here, I adapt into the "healthy" version. We also recently purchased a Wii Fit and I have been enjoying using it to work out on a daily basis!
