about me

update 10-04-09: We are currently home in Washington State, in our little town of Dayton.



My icon is me climbing the steps of the collisium in Rome - just something to remember my time in Italy.

About me - raised in Las Vegas, and have lived in Germany, Saudi Arabia, Kuwait and most recently Russia. I'm married to a wonderful man whose job takes us to all these differant places. We have a blended family of 4 grown children, 2 boys and 2 girls. We have 5 grandsons and our first granddaughter arrived on May 26, 2007.

My passion is my family and enjoying the outdoors, love hiking and picnicing when weather allows. My pet peeves would have to be rude or angry people who can't or won't take others feelings into consideration. I also cannot understand people who give poor ratings here on zaar but can't take the time to give a reason why they don't like it or it didn't work out. Sometimes it just might be personal taste - but you can't know with out at least a short comment.

Figured I should say that my rating system pretty much just follows the Zaar list. Rarely will I ever rate anything less than a 3 or 4 as I can tell by the ingrediants if I'm going to like it or not. If it doesn't work for us I figure it's personal taste or I did something wrong, in that case I'll usually write the chef and request additional information.

Favorite Foods:

Love anything chocolate, but also enjoy spicy foods, favorite restuarant is any good steakhouse and as far as famous dish - as my grandsons would say "IHOP" (the restaurant) as I'm not known for my cooking and that is why I'm always searching for EASY recipes. As an update, since joining this site - I've started trying a LOT of bread baking (specially sourdough, Thank you Donna and the rest on the site) and am having great success with it. My family is thrilled and soooo surprised at my recent culinary achievements. I continue to tell them it's all thanks to Zaar and the many friends I've made
