about me

Wincle is in the UK ~ and I hope to see it one day! Possibly, in another life, I've lived there before ~ in an estate called TapThornThistle ~

I'm a mother to three grown successful children, and GramLolly to four beautiful grandchildren ~ and I have fun being ditzy Dame Doolally Tap in the Red Hat Society.

I love to antique and have an appreciation of old things, especially items passed down to me from family: a Singer treadle sewing machine, oak crank wall phone, mantle clocks, flat irons, butter molds, churns and crocks, and iron cornstick pans from a grandmother, an ice cream scoop and parfait glasses from an aunt ~ my mother's Moss Rose china.

I have many collections: hand held food choppers, along with the cornstick pans decorate the walls in my small kitchen. In the den, hang wrought iron farm implements ~ i.e, rotary hoes, rakes and gears ~

I also collect twist handle butter knives, odd thistle patterned serving pieces, aprons, cookbooks, too many elephants, thistle pins, feather pins, small wall mirrors, and old framed floral crewel embroidery pieces.

I am a big Africam and Pete's Pond fan, and as of 03-19-08, Pete's Pond is back online after being offline for a couple of months!

Favorite Foods:

Seafood, Eastern NC BBQ, yeast rolls, asparagus, salads, squash, freshly brewed coffee, chocolate covered almonds ~ almost everything!
