I live on 20 acres of mountainside in beautiful southern BC. We love the outdoors and have lots of wildlife to watch here.
We operate a year-round B&B, so I am totally involved with food! We share our home with our PR Pets; Nook, a 100 lb MalamuteX and Bubba, a 20 lb long-haired, orange tabby.
I love to cook and spend a lot of time here, and online, searching out new recipes. My all-time favourite cookbook is 'The Fannie Farmer Cookbook'...one of MANY cookbooks that I, now unfortunately, ignore in favour of the internet variety.
I love to make soups and don't usually follow any recipe faithfully. I think of recipes as just 'suggestions'...unless I'm baking, of course, then I follow them fairly closely.
I have several recipes that are often requested by guests. When I have the time... and remember...I'll post the most requested B&B recipes.
I love Japanese food, but get to eat it all too seldom out here in the country. Luckily, I have a Japanese friend who's an excellent cook and loves to teach and to share her recipes!
I love the Caesar Salad at 'Earl's'. Since my hubby is a liver-hater and doesn't much care for cooked onions on their own, I often have liver 'n onions when we go out for dinner.
