I am a marketing assistant at a large accounting firm. I am single and prefer it that way. I do enjoy cooking for friends, but my family finds my tastes too exotic for them. I am a Navy veteran and have traveled extensively throughout Asia and lived in California for seven years.
I love all kinds of food, maybe a little too much. Soul food, Latin American, most Asian foods too. Don't really have a favorite. I'm pretty easy to please I think. My friends love my chicken dishes, my jambalaya and my tres leches cake (my dad was half-Cuban - he loved his mom's native dishes.) Only within the past few years have I become interested in Cuban/Latin American food, and I LOVE it. I only wish I knew how to make a good steak....guess it's some sort of art.
What foods don't I like?
Day-old baked goods
Cube steaks
canned potatoes/instant mashed
Spam (YUCK - I ate it almost every day in the Navy; can't STAND it!)
Fat on my meat (MUST be TRIMMED!)
Sugar cookies
Fruit and meat combos (except for Island Kielbasa)
Vegan or vegetarian meals
Oh, yeah and mint jelly on my lamb. Hate it.
