about me

I am the mother of six children ranging in aage from 18 down to 3. Needless to say, it is quite a challenge finding recipes all will agree to. When I find something, believe me, I'll do everything I can to make different versions of it! I am a full-time mom now, but in the near future I'll be heading back into the work force. I cook not just to feed my family- I truly LOVE to cook! I don't think I've met something Italian I haven't liked yet, and I am forcing myself to branch out to different ethnic food preparations. I can't live without Giada DeLaurentis' "Everyday Italian" cookbook. I also enjoy the recipes from "Food Network Favorites". My kids want me to start my own catering business, but I'm afraid it will take the fun out of the cooking I do. I hope that when I make something for someone to enjoy, they find it has an authentic taste. If it's Asian, I want to replicate the way it would be prepared and served in an Asian home. I don't want to "dummy up" food, just to make it faster. I believe you can taste when something is made with love. That's my philosophy.

Favorite Foods:

I think I might have feathers because of all the chicken I cook! I love a big helping of Buffalo Wings watching a Steelers football game. I am very well known among my friends and family for making pretty darn good Butternut Squash soup. It goes over so well, I am asked to make it even on hot Summer nights! I make lovely, moist meatballs that all of my kids(and their friends)gobble up. While I don't adore baking, I do make a good Pumpkin Swirl Cheesecake.
When I get a chance to go out to eat without my kids, my husband will take me to a great Greek restaurant here in Rutherford called "After Athens". They have a running slide show with breathtaking pictures of Greece. The food is fabulous, and the owner will gladly explain anything you don't understand. I like Thai food and Sushi as well. All six of my kids love Sushi, but I'd need a second mortgage to feed it to them!
