about me

I'm a former Air Force brat (and was also in the Air Force, myself). After leaving the service, I studied acting/theatre in Richmond, Virginia, where I met my sweetheart, Ethan. We currently reside in Norfolk, VA, and when I'm not being the proud step-mom to Hannah, our beautiful 16-year-old fashionista, I'm running my home audio book studio "Goodpamelavoice" (and I now include scouring Recipezaar for new, delicious "schtuff."

Sadly, I'm one of those females who had never learned to cook and was intimidated by any food that wasn't prepackaged, canned or take out. HOWEVER, recently while surfing the net for a basic cookie recipe, I chanced upon Recipezaar and was I ever hooked! Looking at some of the recipes and comments by other foodies, I was truly inspired and bolstered up to try and make some REAL food.

Oh my goodness, words cannot come close in expressing how THRILLED my family and I are now that we're getting to eat some AMAZING new dishes and LOVING them!! God bless this website and the wonderful people who love to share their love for fun, family and FAH-bulous food.

Goodness...what to choose...I guess the only things I HAVEN'T learned to enjoy eating are sauerkraut and brussel sprouts.

I grew up on the typical American "meat and potatoes" diet. However, I fell in love with Italian food (and the people), while stationed in Northern Italy. Ahhhh...bliss at the foot of the Alps!

My husband--originally from New York City-- turned me on to Asian and Middle-Eastern foods. Yum, just love those spices and the rich, earthy smells.

NOW, I feel like I can create some of these dishes, instead of going out to restaurants or getting take-out to get my food fixes!! YEAH!
