I love where I live: I'm an hour from Philly, about 2 1/2 from NYC , and about 3 hours from the wonderful Jersey shore. I'm a fulltime mom, and I love taking care of my 2 boys and myself (not necessarily in that order.) I love to cook (natch) and read, and I've just discovered that I love white-water rafting. One of my favorite things to do is have friends over for wine and a great new menu I've been dying to try. I love to play mah-jongg. I hate it when people throw their cigarette-butts out of the window of their car. I also get extremely distressed when I find grammatical or punctuation errors in printed matter while I'm out and about. I don't have one favorite cookbook. I love to read Cook's, Bon Appetit, Gourmet, and restaurant reviews in the New York Times. I also love to search for recipes and menus on-line, which is how I discovered Recipezaar!
This is going to be the boring (or, more boring than the previous topic) part. I don't have a favorite dish or favorite restaurant. I love comfort food, but I intensely dislike chain restaurants. One of my greatest thrills is to go to a fabulous "new" restaurant/bistro and order their version of mashed potatoes and meatloaf, or some type of Provencal casserole. Love Greek food, and Italian, and French (country-style), and home-cooked Japanese (also sushi, but that's such a cliche.)
