My name is Jules and I'm 29 years old. I've been married for 2 years, we live in Tasmania, Australia, and I work in a call centre for an energy company.
I love my mum to pieces but must say that she cannot cook to save herself so I did not learn any culinary skills from her growing up. And I ashamedly admit that I did not pay near enough attention to my cooking teacher during home economics in highschool.
Suffice to say that when I became an adult and went out into the big world on my own, I knew how to cook about three things. That's fine, I survived and maybe learnt a few more dishes. Then I got married and thought I better get a whole lot better at cooking if I was going to feed my hubby meals as nice as those his father had made him for many years.
I have come along in leaps and bounds now (thanks to Zaar!) and more I cook the more I love cooking if that makes sense. I get so much satisfaction out of seeing the things I cook turn out nicely and especially when my husband goes back for seconds! =) And yet I have still got so much to learn and so many more things to try. I've really only scratched the surface of what I'd really like to be able to cook. What better place to be to learn it all but here at Zaar.
Foods I love include mushroom risotto, Indian curries (I have not attempted to make any myself yet!),
quiche, winter soups, anything with loads of vegies in it.
