Hello and welcome to My Page.
I am a wife of fifty years come February 2009, mother of four adult children, grandmother of seven (one deceased Tay-Sachs), great-grandmother of two. Carly, one of my granddaughters, has lived with us since week one.
Claude, my husband, retired this year so we're doing a bit of touch up on the house.
Have to mention my ferrets too. I've had them for over twenty years and I believe they are one of God's most wonderful little creatures, lively thieves but full of personality. I like cats too but we can't have them here, my husband is a bird fancier and raises & races homing pigeons.
Learned to cook on my grandmother's wood stove and still have it though I no longer use it for heating/cooking. My husband is a "meat and potatoes" man but I'm adventurous in the kitchen and have taught my children to be so too. I still cook as though I were feeding a small army but it never goes to waste. My grandkids are always popping in to see "what's for dinner" and you know, I like it that way.
My no.1 pet peeve is hot food on a cold plate. It's Carly's job to set the table and a constant argument about warming plates - she just doesn't get it!
My hobbies have dwinddled down to one-scrapbooking. I do traditional, digital, hybrid, and every year I put together a 60-page scrapped cookbook for the women in my family.
Some of the fun I've had here on Zaar...

We don't eat out much but sometimes do take-out especially in the summertime when all the "clam shacks" are at their busiest or we do the usual stuff like pizza or Chinese.
The three most often requested recipes are my Seafood Macaroni Salad, Sausage Bean Casserole and Baked Santa Fe Cheese Dip. They never know what to expect since I stumbled onto this site. Of late I've been on a scones & cupcakes kick and trying just about every recipe I've found here.
