I live in Las Vegas. I moved to California one day with suitcase in hand and an idea that moving from Indiana was possibly temporary but certainly an experience for a naive Indiana girl. I met my husband in a community art class. By the 2nd semester we were spending more time looking over the ocean than doing our classwork! We dated for 6 years. I guess we wanted to make sure we knew each other better. We have been married for 13 years now. We have the happiest marriage. I feel so blessed. Our DD is a 5th grader now! It's hard to believe how it all moves so quickly. I was lucky enough to run into Recipezaar around Nov. 2000 and got hooked quickly. I am a cookbook collector and have been collecting recipes for as long as I can remember. My DH had to build in shelves for all my cookbooks! I have been dabbling with OAMC the last few years and am happy to be part of the Cooking on a Budget forum. I'm not the perfect OAMC cook...no OAMC dinner every night. I do have an option to have one every night if I want to! I go on food jags and cooking jags! Most of the time I try to cook and have a good dinner on the table but I'll be honest enough to say there is still fast food occasionally in the budget! I have had such wonderful support here whenever I need it. Thank you all for being here!
About me personally? I'm a work PT mom who would love to be SAH. I love Dr. Laura. I'm a Christian still trying to find my way in the world. I try to get to all the questions in the forum but there are days when life gets in the way
Just a quick note on how I rate recipes:
5 stars - This recipe is perfect. (My DH is truely a critic and doesn't give 5's unless it's amazing) I would recommend it to others and would definitely make again.
4 stars - This recipe was good but I would change something in it next time.
3 stars - This is a recipe I would not make again but it was "OK"
2 stars - This recipe I would not make again and we didn't like it at all
1 star - This recipes did not work out/taste was unappealing and wouldn't make again



If it's easy and fast I'm making it. I am not a gourmet cook, but I like to cook. We enjoy a range of meat and potatoes to Italian, Mexican, and anything in between!
