Rustic, peasant foods are my favourites - don't fix it if it ain't broke! My background is Portuguese so southern European cuisine is my preference, although I do often cook curries, tagines and seriously authentic (read: weird to Westerners) Chinese food. I ONLY eat organic, whole foods. Nothing processed or refined whatsoever. (Think brown rice, dried beans and pulses, no ketchup or other packaged condiments etc.) It means more time in the kitchen, but since I love to cook, for me it's an excuse to play and be healthier too!
Get to know grass-roots, authentic recipes from other cultures - it's far more nutritionally balanced food (and tastier) than the modern 'fusion' and chain restaurant nonsense that passes for food these days.
