I've lived my whole life in MN and grew up on old fashioned farm style cooking. Needless to say, not exactly healthy. I got fed up with being overweight and decided to do something about it. I needed a new "menu" and recipezaar was just the ticket. I love browsing the site for all of the great recipes all of you have submitted. I've been using the site for over 2 years now, and with everyone's help (by that I mean the recipes),I have lost 103 pounds and have successfully kept it off. I have even introduced my mom to many of the recipes to rave reviews. I couldn't have done it without you and recipezaar.
I have been happily married for 12 years, have no children of my own but have 2 perfect step-daughters who are currently busy making me a grandma (I'll be 40 in November). My DH has been a wonderful taste tester for me. Some of the recipes he has enjoyed, and some he hopes I never make again. We have different tastes in foods so I have to make recipes to please him that aren't all that appealing to me, so it's a give and take. And it keeps life interesting.
I love anything hot and spicy--this is where my husband tends to disagree with me. If my food isn't making my eyes water, it's not worth eating.
Anything Mexican, Tex-Mex, or Chinese are my favorites. Italian comes in next. I also stear clear of the "bad" carbs at all times and don't use anything that contains high fructose corn syrup.
