I live in the Dallas, TX area and I'm married to my soulmate. We have a 2 1/2 year old son and I'm expecting another baby in about 4-5 months. I'm mostly a stay at home Mom but I also buy and sell antiques and help my husband out in his business. I work part time in his family's antique store. One of my favorite cookbooks is "Land of Lakes Treasury of Country Cooking". Everything that I have ever made in it comes out great and despite the title many of the dishes are very elegant. Of course being Land of Lakes there is cream and butter and sour cream, etc in many of the recipes so we're not talking diet food. My biggest pet peeve is women who splatter their pee all over the toilet seat. Really ladies, if you're going to stand up and pee like a man at least have the courtesy of lifting up the seat like a man. Many of us i.e. the pregnant, the disabled, the elderly, etc can not squat over the toilet. Give us a break and don't pee all over the seat!
Anything pasta! I never met a carb I didn't like. Also, shellfish. Salads, sandwiches - especially paninis. Basically I love food. About the only thing I don't like are organ meats. No liver for me! Not even the finest foie gras. Yuck! I'm probably most famous at the holidays for my Sweet Potato Souffle and my devilled eggs. I have several favorite restaurants: White Horse Tavern in Newport, RI (where I am from originally), Al Forno in Providence, RI, Stephen Pyles in Dallas, TX, Clay Pit Indian Restaurant in Addison, TX and a funky little Indian-based vegetarian place in Dallas called Cosmic Cafe.
