about me

I am a 911 dispatcher/jailer. I LOVE my job. Even though I work rotating shifts, nights to days and weekends and holidays, I don't know any different. I have done this for 21 years. I am also a 24 yr veteran of the Granite Falls Ambulance Service. To balance out my life, about 10-15 hrs a week, I cook at our local golf course. Sounds weird, but its very relaxing, getting paid for something I love to do.. I am married and have two daughters, 18 and 15 and a step son 15.
I learned everything I know from my Grandmother and mother. I don't often use a recipe once I make it for the first time. A little of this and a little of that makes for some very interesting dishes. I am lucky, my girls will eat anything I make. I believe that comes from being divorced and on our own, beggers can't be choosers. I don't make things that I know they don't like. I seldom cook from a box or a bag. My step son is a bit more challenging.. He likes junk food and high sugar content. Being in the medical field, I know that is a recipe for disaster, so we are slowing getting him to enjoy more 'good' things.

Favorite Foods:

Traditional Midwest Cooking. Chinese and now developing a like for spicier foods. Must come with age?? :o)
