The pic above ? ~ On our recent annual mo-long trip to the U.S., I indulged my love of Margaritas as often as I dared ... mainly because I love them & they sadly don't have a clue how to make them here in Iceland. ![]()
10/29/09 ~ Our trip to the US last mo began w/a 3-dy Cousins Family Reunion in Minneapolis honoring my Aunt Donna & Uncle Bob. It was a surprise for them & our grp was there from as far north as Canada/Iceland, as far west as Seattle, as far east as Maryland/Iceland & as far south as Pensacola. The planning took 6 mo & the event was pure joy from start-to-finish. Ahh the memories!

After the reunion, the rest of our time in the US was spent w/family & friends in the Tulsa area ... BUT highlighted by the joy of spending 3 1/2 wks w/Bryson, our grandson who we see just once a yr. It was tough to choose just a few pics of him, but here's 3 faves:

I love to play cards with my Amma and Afi

Mr Chocolate Face practicing to be a pilot for IcelandAir

Can I smile big time or what

Bryson on Halloween 2009 and he practiced for it by arresting his Mom repeatedly
MY PERS FEAT RECIPES has been part of my AM pg for some time, but I felt they would enjoy a brighter spotlight if I used the Menu function. This began in Feb 2008 & was neglected in recent mo as "life got in the way". This is the single link for the past 6 mo. Look for Oct-Dec in early Jan. ![]()

About Me ~ A marriage transplant from Dallas to Iceland when I "retired" in July 2003 & became a "Kitchen Queen", I quickly became a RZ addict thx to SusieQusie, my long-time friend in Dallas who got me well-hooked on RZ. I "mess" w/recipes because I get inspired, but more often due to ingredient or expense issues in Iceland. I'm devoted to the MORE IS BETTER principle: If anything is really good, then more of it is always better - esp butter & garlic!
MY REVIEWS ~ I choose recipes that I fully expect to please our palates & luckily that has most freq been the case. I will occ have ingredient issues or pers pref (like everyone), but I don't penalize a recipe in these cases. I will reduce a * rating if I feel an ingredient is excessive (or lacking), if the prep is faulted in some way or when a recipe lacks a certain Wow Factor worthy of 5* IMHO. If I produce a negative result inconsistent w/other reviews, I assume I've done something wrong & don't penalize your recipe. We all know reviews are subjective by their very nature, so pls take no offense. I try to make constructive comments & do it kindly ... & I welcome the same courtesy in reviews of my recipes. ![]()
Addendum
~~ 1) PLS use the Helpful Vote Option when appropriate to do so. I try to read all reviews when I choose to make a recipe or prior to preparing them, but do target reviews w/helpful votes if there are a lot of them to read.
~~ 2) I try to choose recipes that are either unreviewed, need a photo or both. Taking photos is time-consuming. If I don't photograph your recipe, assume time didn't permit doing so or your recipe already had a lovely pic I couldn't hope to duplicate. ![]()
