Hello there! Wow, I am so surprised to see you reading this! I didn't expect anyone to take a fancy to lil ol' me. Since I've got your attention (for now!) I will try to make good use of it. This is me.
I live in a big city full of glittering lights, buzzing tourists, and clocks with no batteries.
I love this city! I am not a typical native, so no worries. I just wanna shop! =D
I am a stay at home Wifey to the most wonderful Man I've ever known. He is the inspiration for these recipes, and my motive for being here in the first place. He is in the Military and in Iraq; and we haven't been able to live together for two years! So, when he comes home I want to not only know how to cook (he was the Chef for our little household before I stayed home) but cook like a gourmet Chef! So, here we go...
He is going to be home early next year for the first time in ages, it seems, so I need to be ready. I love to bake, so it is safe to say that is my big passion when it comes to cooking. I love making bread by hand, and am in the process of learning how to make Gourmet Chocolate Confections as well (Truffles etc).
My funny story that got me into cooking stems from my wonderful companion, as well. I asked him if we could get a breadmaker, as I wanted to learn how to bake bread, obviously. Heheh. He said "Of course Baby doll! But only on one condition...(speaking from overseas on the phone) You have to learn how to make it by hand first; then and only then will I let YOU decide if you still want a Bread Machine."
Well, here I am many loaves later! And nope, I don't feel the need for a machine. It is a little time consuming, but hey! All I've got is time right now waiting for him! So, no machine just yet. Maybe when we have kids I will reconsider, or not. I want them to watch their Momma making bread by hand like the old fashioned families did; and teach them! What rich memories it would make for them.
So anyways, that is me. Oh, I should mention just for the sake of being loyal to disclosure, hehe, we have a household of cats and parrots!! They are also our passion, besides cuisine and eachother. Enjoy!

PS UPDATE! Hubby came home in one piece, we now have lived together in our new city for over a year, and HAVE OUR FIRST BABY on the way!!! Thank God for this site! I can bake up a storm and am well prepared for Wifey/Mommyhood! Thank you recipezaar!
Anything that is bad for me! Plus Sushi, Spicy Garlic Chickie Wingies, and cucumbers. Yep, I'm pregnant all right!
