I live in the historical City of Newburgh NY. I am an office administrator for a home security company. I am the mother of 2 wonderful children and a step mother to 2 more. Luckily for me MY 2 kids will eat ANYTHING, unfortunately my two step children are very picky, I guess that's because they have been raised on junk foods. My favorite cookbooks are the Gourmet Cookbook and the Dean and Deluca cookbook, although since I have joined Zaar I find that I use all of my cookbooks less and less. I am always looking for great new recipes to try. I am sort of the traveling cook in my family, people invite me over just so I can cook the latest recipes I have discovered. I have discovered so many amazing recipes from my new Zaar friends. I have been using this site for several years now and have found some real winners. Thanks!
My favorite foods are Italian, Mexican and Japaneese. I am famous for my fried chicken wings. I sort of just "wing" it when it comes to those, so when I figure out the measurments for the spices and stuff that I use I will post my recipe. My favorite restaurant is La Mela in NYC. What a fun place, anyone who is visiting has got to go to Little Italy and try it, it is far from gourmet, totally family style. It is our Mothers Day tradition to go there for an early dinner every year.
I really enjoy browsing the community forums on Zaar, and sometimes contributing. I am passionate about healthy eating and avoiding processed and genetically modified foods. I have recently began trying to follow a "Traditional Diet" as explained in the Weston A. Price Foundation website. I only stumbled upon it about 6 months ago and since following this "diet" I have never felt better.
