Been cooking since i came back from boarding and ive been baking a lot longer than that. my friends and family have had regular picnics for years, once a week from may to sept for years and ive helped cater it for 5. this website has been a source for all the ethnic food my family has not had a connection to.
my family is armenian, but my mother's family is from ethiopia and my father's iran. my mother went to an english boarding school in switzerland, and i went to an armenian/british boarding school in cyprus (my grandparents and before they passed, my great grandparents, had retired in larnaca, while i was in nicosia). plus the italians still had a great presence in ethiopia when my mother was a child. so at the end of the day my family makes middle eastern, african, persian, european, and greek food out of the old family recipes, can you imagine the odd fusion that has developed over the years? thats what i like.
