about me

This is me at the revolving restaurant on Robson St. in Vancouver celebrating my daughter's 18th birthday May 3/06.

My daughter and I live in the rural yet urban-ish area of Chilliwack in B.C.'s beautiful Fraser Valley with 2 whippets; Pixie & Cleo, and 2 siamese cats; Coco & Chiyo, and a new addition; Bosco and ex-racing greyhound from Florida.

I have been a nurse for 29 years, and have worked nights for the last 7 years in a local senior's home.
We are involved with the Order of the Eastern Star, and I volunteer every spring with the Canadian Cancer Society.

I like "quick" and easy meals especially on the nights I work. I often make casseroles and one-dish meals on my work nights.
My favourite cookbook is Harrowsmith and the Company's Coming series.

Favorite Foods:

I seem to have a knack for making gravy and I always have the honour of preparing it at all our family feasts.
My apple cheesecake gets rave reviews, but my favourite meal to cook is "Indian" the yogurt and tomato based curries are delicious!
I love to experiment and try new recipes.....Hmmm guess that's why I'm here!!
Hard to say which is my favourite restaurant - I'd guess it would be Dim Sum, but we don't have that out here in the Valley, so it means a trip into Vancouver's Chinatown. I also like Greek, Italian, Seafood and Japanese/Korean/Sushi, actually there's not too much I don't like.
