about me

I am a retired nursing supervisor. Spent the last 25 years supervising nursing working for the state of Iowa. I retired 3 years ago. I love to cook. My hubby raises a big garden and I can most of it. We enjoy it during the winter months. I have 13 grandchildren and they are very special. I love to try new recipes but my husband is a true Iowa farmer and loves the comfort foods. He will try anything but he prefers what he has had all of his life. I learned to quilt after retirement and have completed several quilts. I am working on a baby quilt for my first great granddaughter at the present. I hope to complete quilts for all 6 six of our children too. When I am desperate, I go to the oldest cookbook in my collection which is Better Homes and Gardens. It has about everything.

Favorite Foods:

I love most all foods. Favorites are probably Mexican and Italian. I make a mean Lasagne and some yummy soups. I am not famous for any thing special. Just love to cook. I hope to meet a lot of people here.
