I live in sunny NSW, Australia, out in the bush, I cook for a living and I cook for pleasure, bit of a culinary overload, hey??
I totally enjoy eating,(preferably food that someone else has cooked)it always tastes better doesn't it?
I'm also into self sufficiency and am starting my veggie garden, again,!!! even as we speak, and I love my ever productive chooks (chickens to non Aussies)NOT for eating only for eggs.!!!!
I made the mistake of naming them all when we first got them,... how do kill an animal that you call by name and feed by hand..? yep we humanised them all...ooooops !If we lived in a different survival environment I suppose we would have a very different attitude, You live within the boundaries that are set...hey?
Dips & appetisers; I could live on them all day, just grazing when you're hungry, way to go...!I totally love 'hand me down' recipes from 'usually elderly people'; pickles, alcholic wines/tonics,(hicc.!) stain removers, medicines, home remedies..etc........... I really believe that these 'forgotten folklore type' remedies will be very important in the coming years when even cooking 'from scratch' will be a forgotten & outmoded & 'God Forbid' unecessary task.
