I love to bake - love it, love it!! I am also big into collecting cookbooks and forever trying out new recipes - sometimes to the delight of my family....
I read cookbooks like novels and always love to make 2 - 3 different versions of a recipe to make sure I get the "best one". I always experiment on guests so they never know what to expect and haven't had too many disasters so far!
I love most anything baked - maple syrup, brown sugar and caramel based are my weaknesses. Canadian Butter Tarts should be ranked as one of the best foods in the whole world... yummy! Otherwise, when I am making supper for my family or company I always rely on "comfort food" - nothing too exotic but always good tasting. I've also been drawn to old fashined Amish/Mennonite cooking - usually easy to make, makes a lot of food in one go and great tasting!
