Olympia, Washington officially became our new home in July of 05. We feel so blessed to be able to live in this stunningly beautiful location, close to our two daughters and their families...especially my two little grandaughters and grandson. It's an exciting challenge to learn the names of the trees, plants and birds from this area that are so different from where we lived in Florida for 26 years.
My cooking style today is focused on healthy, whole foods, eliminating most processed and refined ingredients. I want to eat the wide variety of things that God has given us for enjoyment and nourishment.
When I have time for myself, I love to do all things artistic...drawing, pastels, paper craft, scrapbooking, and most recently jewelry making.

My favorite dish to cook is the new one I discover on Recipezaar, recipes from some of the world's best cooks. Rarely does my family eat the same dish twice as I'm always experimenting and creating. Vegetables are really my favorite foods...there isn't one that I don't like. One of the best things about living in the Northwest is the availability of beautiful, organic produce year round. We like to search out and buy what's grown locally and seasonally.
Most of the time I'd rather cook myself than go out to eat, which makes my husband very, very happy.
