Hi my name is Nicole, I was born in Vancouver, Canada and moved to New Zealand when I was 5. I recently went back to Canada in 1995 and lived in Whistler - an amazing ski resort I might add, for 5 years, working in the hotel industry, this was my introduction to the hospitality industry. I now live in Havelock North, Hawkes Bay, New Zealand on a 6 acre property and run a self contained accommodation called 'The Barn', the website is listed below. We have people coming to stay with us from all over the world who just love our country and surroundings, I serve a complimentary breakfast and make all of my own jams and sauces so this webite just rocks!! I have just started in the preserving side of things and have been making produce for about a year so things can only get better. People just love coming to stay with us and tasting the new flavours that I am producing. It certainly is a huge selling point that a lot of the produce comes from fresh from our property. I can't wait to try out some of the fabulous recipes on this site, my mouth is watering just reading some of them. Thanks everyone!!!
I love to cook chicken cacciatore and lasagne, but just recently have really got into making my own pickles and chutneys which I just love. Many of my jams and pickles are made from the fresh fruit from our property. I am starting to post quite a few lime recipes as we have three lime trees that are really starting produce all this fruit, so I furiously hunting for recipes. My favourite restaurant is in Whistler Canada called 'The Rimrock', they serve the best lobster you could ever imagine tasting!!
