We live in Indiana, and I have been married to a truly incredible man for 10 years now. We have two children, an 8 year-old boy and a 4 year-old girl. They are very bright, amazing kids and keep us challenged and laughing.
We all love to cook and to eat. We eat a lot of soup, pasta, and also asian food. Our son is always inventing recipes for us to try, and our daughter loves to help from start to finish, even washing dishes - yay!!
I stay home with our kids and I also make jewelry when I have a few spare minutes. My husband works for a non-profit organization and right now is focused on building a local community center to assist and encourage families in a low-income area in our city and also works to coordinate partnerships between relief organizations in southern India to meet people's needs more completely. He travels to India frequently and I got to go with him last year. The picture above is from that trip.
I love the Recipezaar community!!! Copying recipes from cookbooks used to be one of my favorite ways to relax, but now to have all this access to so many recipes along with the interaction with wonderful people, now that's fun!!!
My cooking has really branched out and improved significantly since joining up here!
We LOVE asian food! I also love barbecue, shrimp & many comfort foods, especially sloppy joes. My husband has a deep affinity for pastas & soups, especially if they're served with a big loaf of bread!
We lived in Chicago for a while, so most of our favorite restaurants are there...Big Bowl Restaurant where we had our first date, P.F. Chang's, and El Taco Real. We also love Sonny's BBQ, and miss it from a brief time that we lived in Florida! Locally, we love China House, a little takeout place nearby where the food is always fresh, hot & tasty!! The owners' daughter and our son are buddies, which is probably telling as to how much we go there...
The recipes I would most like to find right now are Big Bowl's potsticker dipping sauces, and El Taco Real's Queso Fundito Con Chorizo (but I recently found a recipe here that I am playing with and have gotten close!).
