about me

I live on 10 acres outside San Luis Obispo with my hubby and our 6 cats. Sam is my icon cat. Maple is a mixed Siamese - Flea is our old (18 years) black Halloween cat, Bob, the feral cat that we are slowly taming and Big Red, an overweight sweetie that has adopted us at mealtime. I have no idea where else he lives but he could not stay as fat as he is by just eating at our house. Our newest is Spook - a feral Halloween kitty. Our little Dash passed away a few months ago at 18 months and broke our hearts in the process. There's a picture of her on my Soups & Stews cookbook.

We have day jobs but also farm organically. I love to cook and garden and can hardly wait to retire so I'll have more time to do both.

My husband is a willing guinea pig for my cooking and since he's still among the living, I guess I haven't had too many klunkers. This site is the best thing since sliced bread. All my cookbooks are now for display only. I only use 4 and 5 star reviews - why hurt someone's feelings with a mediocre or bad review. Just don't make the dish again.

Favorite Foods:

Being raised in Texas and then New Mexico, I will always have a passion for Mexican food. Living in California has taught me the delights of sushi and all different types of seafood. Then, of course, there's Italian - and Thai - and - and - and. I guess I am just a total food junkie.
