about me

Hi, I am a recent college graduate who has too much time on her hands!! So what do I do? Try new recipes, of course!! Well, I do other things besides cooking, ok! Some of my favorite things to do are camping, biking, canoeing, hiking, walking, cooking, reading and so on. Besides all that fun stuff, some of the serious stuff I like to do are: software development, software testing, design databases, anything to do with computers (yea I graduated with a comp. sc. degree..is it that obvious?) hehehe. Astronomy...and no I am not an astronomer!! I like watching stars. I love to watch meteor showers, figure out different constellations (my fav. of course is the great Orion), watch auroras(not that we get much around here). So as you can see I have four major passions in life (besides my loving fiancé): Cooking, Outdoors, Computers, and Astronomy! I think that sums up all I want to say for now...maybe I will add some more later...

Favorite Foods:

My favorite foods? Anything spicy!! I don't mean just pepper spice, I mean the real Spice!! Since I am from these tiny islands down below India, I like spicy food. I am not indian, but people think I am...funny! I guess my ancestors proabably migrated to my little islands from India and Sri Lanka. That explains why people mistake me for an Indian! But our country has its own culture, language and FOOD!! Ever since I moved to the U.S. I miss my food. So I decided to make my kind of food here in the U.S. Mom sends me certain ingredients that I can't find here, and so it all works out great. I get the pleasure of eating my food, here!! This is another reason why I got so involved in cooking.
Apart from my spicy food, my mouth is very diverse in taste. I like Italian, French, Thai, Chinese, American, Mexican, Cajun, Cuban, Sri Lankan, and Indian. I have lots of favorite dishes, and I can't name all of them because it would be unfair to name a few and leave the rest behind...so I'm not going to name any My ideal recipe is usually quick and easy to make. I do not like to spend too much time making one dish. I like to make several quick and easy dishes at a time. I better not forget to mention Chocolate. I cant live without chocolate, so glad for the Mayans ...gosh, I don't think I would be alive if there was no chocolate on this earth right now!!
