I was born in the heart of Tex-Mex, in San Antonio, but I've lived in Dallas most of my adult life, since 1971.
My first career was in information technology but I retired from that and I am now doing general contracting in the construction industry.
Always liked working with my hands, and now I get to do more than I used to. I lived with a girl once upon a time, for almost a year and she gained a pound a month, eating my food. We certainly didn't split up because of my cooking.
My friends and family consider me to be a gourmet cook, but the trick I've learned is to try other people's recipes and then vary with a dash of this or that until it comes out to my own taste.
UPDATE Jan 29, 2008:
Haven't been on here in a while, but I've settled down and I'm now retired, giving my landlady hell and having fun with my grandkids and great-grandkids (4 already and another on the way!) I am now convinced that God created oysters, JUST FOR ME. LOL.
Seafood is my favorite. Oysters, oysters ... and more oysters. I think shrimp, crab and lobster were created as the perfect compliments to a good prime rib too. After that, it's whatever is spiciest on the menu ... cajun, chinese, italian,
mexican.
