about me

I live in Adelaide, midway between the city and the beach and on the banks of the River Torrens. Adelaide is a small capital city where one can get from one side of the city to the other in 30-40 minutes (depending on traffic).
I am retired, have 2 children Vanessa and Darryl and 5 grandchildren..Ella-Mae 15 3/4, Mitchell 4 3/4, Kaelem 3 1/2, Daniel 17 months and Ashlyn 15 months. Have been married to Malcolm for 42 years. For fun - usually friends over for a barbie or even drinks...and relax! Other than that I do crosswords and read a lot - well I used to until babysitting came along.
I don't have a favourite book (my husband says I've got too many to be able to select one). I just love collecting recipes, and since finding zaar I have a LOT more. In fact I have had to divide them all up into separate binders.
My passions are my grandchildren, animals AND of course cooking.
peeves? don't have any...well I didn't until now. Our council and the one across the River have taken to cutting down perfectly good gum trees. If they do anymore I might have to stage a protest!!

Favorite Foods:

Italian, Viet-Thai, Greek, French. Morrocan - well lets face it - anything.
The recipes I am usually asked to make are pavlovas and a cherry hazelnut tart.
Enzo's...a well known Italian Restaurant in our local area. His gnocchi is to die for.
Also Sunflower - a viet-thai restaurant. They serve their spring rolls the authentic way, I could just eat a whole plate of them. Their quail is also the best!

My review criteria

5 Stars = Outstanding - This one is a keeper! The flavours were great, easy to prepare, directions are easy to understand. Would regularly make this dish and comfortable to recommended this one to family and friends.

4 Stars = Loved it - The flavours were great, easy to prepare, directions are easy to understand, would defiantly try again

3 Stars = Liked it - I’ve tried it once but I may not make it again

2 stars = OK - One star for the effort of the chef posting the recipe & 1 star for appealing to my taste buds to attempt on making the recipe - However I will never try it again

1 star = Didn't like it - I don't like to give out 1 star – My taste bugs are different to the chef who posted the recipe so it’s not that chefs fault.
