I'm a psychotherapist who decided to start cooking creatively after years of resistance. I cook primarily vegetarian but cook with other ingredients when my family complains too much. I'm the mother of 3 sons, two of whom are grown, and I've been married since 1978. I cringe when I think back on the cooking my poor husband valliantly endured when we were first married. I collect cookbooks and frequent the thrift shops in my area for unusual finds.
Not sure if this counts as "favorite foods," but what I look for in a recipe are simplicity and foods as close to their natural state as possible. I rarely use recipes that call for canned "cream of..." soups. YUCK! My family rates my lasagna as a favorite dish, and they gobble up my shepherd's pie, too. But their taste in food is plebian and they'd just as soon order a pizza, so I'm not sure their opinion counts. I love to experiment with ethnic foods of all kinds.
