Hi!
Thanks for visiting my page! I am a university student (in my graduating year!) studying human nutritional sciences. My mom has always enjoyed looking through recipe books to find new healthy and interesting recipies. In fact many of the recipes I am posting are her recipes. She involved me in cooking and baking at a young age. My enjoyment of helping mom in the kitchen turned into my own interest in nutrition and finding and making healthy recipies, as well as adapting recipes to fit my likings. I am pesco-vegetarian as I do not want animals to suffer for my consumption. For the last two summers I have worked as a meal program assistant at a daily senior's meal program. I have learned so much more about quantity meal preparation as a result and loved working there.
After 3 years on this site, I have decided to take the plunge and post a non-active (ie no sunglasses, helmet..) photo of myself! The photo above is me.
I have a profound love for animals and the pretty little kitty you see as my icon is my 16 1/2 year old cat Snuggles. Sadly, Snug passed away in March, and is dearly, dearly missed.

I also love to be active in individual sports and train year round for triathlon. I am both an active racer and volunteer. The distance I prefer most is the Sprint distance - 750m swim, 20km bike, 5km run. This upcoming race season marks my 15th year of participating in triathlon. I love it just as much, if not more, than I did 15 years ago!!
The photo below of our two new family additions. Layla (the calico) came home with us from the Humane Society in September and Saxon (black and white) came home two months later as a companion for Layla. Gladly they have become very good pals.

I love fruit, especially summer fruit such as strawberries and raspberries, although watermelon is high on the list too. I am also a big fan of carrots, especially baby carrots. I am a person that could eat cereal all day! I eat lower sugar cereals in the mornings and sweeter cereals for dessert. Peanut butter is more of a passion for me than a liking. I am a firm believer that peanut butter is good on or in just about anything. Not all my favourites are healthy though. Chocolate is and always will be irresistible!
