about me

I am from Western Canada and have been cooking since I can remember. When I was 17 I moved to Florida for awhile to take care of an ailing Grandparent. It was there I feel I really 'learned' to cook, as I was his primary caregiver for a year. I have always loved trying new recipes, and I 'read' cookbooks like others read novels.

Favorite Foods:

I like things with a lot of kick, so Mexican, Thai, Vietnamese foods, etc are my favorites. However, I am also a chicken wing addict, the hotter or spicier the better.
If I'm famous for anything it's cooking too much food - my husband teases me by saying I cook as though I'm trying to feed a working farm, instead of a family of four. Works out for him though, because whenever his friends drop over unexpectedly there is always enough to go around.
I have quite a few favorite restaurants, mainly anywhere that has a fun atmosphere with good food does me fine
