Cooking is a hobby and a stress reliever for me. I love getting creative with food. Often after having a dish I really enjoy, I'll think: I can make this. The next day, I'm working on the recipe and testing it in the kitchen.
My favorite cookbooks are my Mom's "Betty Crocker Picture Cookbook" from 1950, and Alton Brown's, "I'm Just Here for the Food 2.0". I make so many comfort food recipes - just like Mom used to make - from the Betty Crocker Cookbook. Alton Brown's is enjoyable reading. I read it cover to cover.
My pet peeve in cooking is when people say they like a dish and they really don't. It doesn't allow me to know what went wrong so I can alter it. Or maybe they just don't care for that type of food.
My signature dishes are: Mock Crab Cakes, Roasted Red Pepper Alfredo, Browned Rice, the Crab Pretzel, the Jalepeno-Pepper Jack Burger, and creative ice cream add--ins. I'm also know for covering the grill with food no matter how big the grill is.
