about me

Many many thanks to those who have made, reviewed or photographed my recipes! I try to personally thank each and every reviewer, but sometimes I am late or may forget. Please know that I am always humbled that you would try one of my recipes--your honest and constructive feedback is appreciated! I sincerely hope you enjoyed!!! Becky

Hello from sunny Southern California Wine Country where I live with my husband of over 30 years and our two adorable half-Siamese fur baby kitties, Bella and Pepe. Our two human children are grown and flown. DS has recently earned his Bachelor's degree in Finance--we are so proud! DD is married to our wonderful son-in-law Greg, who is a professional Chef! We have two beautiful granddaughters, Chloé age 3, and Victoria Rose born January 6, 2009!

I tremendously enjoy the people and various forums here on Recipezaar, and love exploring recipes of all kinds, especially those that relate to our family's cultural background (mainly German/Austrian/Polish/English/Scottish/Irish/Welsh/Dutch/Swiss/and French), as well as learning about other customs, traditions and foods.

A top favorite pastime of mine (besides Recipezaar) is gardening, with an emphasis on roses, scent in the garden, seasonal fruits, berries & vegetables, and a wide variety of home-grown fresh and unusual herbs that I love to use in my cooking and baking!!! Other favorites are holiday entertaining, travel (am mainly an armchair traveler now), history, genealogy, cultural studies, film, art, photography, reading (especially historical novels and period pieces), heirlooms & antiques, sewing, and decorating. Also, I love animals and despise those who would abuse them.

When we were newlyweds, DH and I lived in Germany for several years, and we tremendously enjoyed our travels throughout the region. It was a real adventure & learning experience, and we loved every minute! We especially enjoyed exploring the lovely Rhine regions, as well as the picturesque Bavarian and Austrian countryside of wildflower meadows, mountain lakes, historic castles, ancient churches and monasteries. Our visit to Rome included a memorable day in the Vatican, as well as an overnight trip to Pompei, the Amalfi Coast and the Isle of Capri. Ah, the memories... And the food---simply incredible!!!
