about me

Currently I'm spending time in England and cooking for a delightful couple. Formally I was in Minneapolis, at a resturant in Loring Park (assistant pastry chef. The real pastry chef handles a handful of resturants) and worked in theatre during the evenings.
My dear bird, T-Chan, a society/zebra finch is in the care of my mother who has found T-Chan a home in her preschool classroom. The children enjoy the finch who is very sweet, chatty and attentive.
I also like point-and-shoot photography, painting, and sketching, and make some mad collages. In addition I like to write fiction and form poetry.
While recipezaar holds a valueable recipebook to me, I also enjoy my Sugar Club Cookbook, Chocolate! Cookbook, KC Baking Powder cookbook, Cooking Light cookbook, and Creole cookbook.
I also have a thing for candy.
Pet peeves of mine are dents in the side doors, grease fires, poor taste in colonge, and non-regulation steps (of which I'm living with now).

Favorite Foods:

My most favourite things are fruits and vegetables, preferrably organic and am an advocate for home-range, organic meats.
I enjoy baking cinnamon rolls and pies and have been asked to be the family cinnamon-roll maker and fufill requests for chocolate-dipped chips, puppy chow, lemon bread, lemon bars, and caramel apple pie.
Currently my favourite thing to eat is tuna and red pepper paste with steamed white rice and kim.

Favourite Resturants:
Mankato, Minnesota:
Neighbours (Italian), Masads (Greek)

Sioux Falls, South Dakota: HuHot (Mongolian) or Fryin' Pan (family)

Pierre, South Dakota:
Pier 347.

Minneapolis, Minnesota:
the Tea Garden (smoothies and bubble teas),
LURCAT (American cuisine),
CUCINA (Italian-fine),
Lotus to go-go (Asian- pho and spring rolls),
D'Amicos and Sons,
Franklin Bakery,
Penninsula (Malaysian),
Franklin Freeze (soft serve ice cream),
Izzy's, Sebastian Joes (hard ice cream)
Pizza Luce (best pizza ever!)
Uptown Diner (best cinnamon rolls ever and waffle fries)

London, England
Humming Bird Cafe (great American pastries; better than American pastries!)
Pauls (predictably decent pastries)
Nandos (Chicken; chips with peri-peri spice are delicious!)

Above all, however, is the Zesto, in Pierre, a soft serve ice cream shop of my godfathers serving also some lunch things.
I do not like mushrooms, anise, liver, or stevia.
