Hi, I'm a Wife and Mom of three girls ranging in age from 7 to 14. Two of my daughters have special needs, so life is never dull! We live in Michigan in a very rural area near the lake (lots of farmland and fishermen). My husband is a free lance writer and I am taking a break from school and enjoying being a full-time homemaker.
I have a degree in culinary arts and love to entertain and cook. My husband and I throw get-togethers and themed parties as often as possible. We love to play games and role play with our friends - we've done Murder Mystery Parties, Vampire and we play DnD every other weekend. I'm constantly creating and searching for new and improved recipes to try out on our gaming group.
Each December, my girlfriend and I host a Cookie Exchange and have tons of fun doing it! It's a wonderful party and good time. I'm working on a Zaar cookbook with the recipes we use for our appetizer buffet and some of the popular cookie recipes that folks have brought this past year to the exchange.
We spend a lot of time traveling and camping in the summer. My husband's schedule allows us to spend all sorts of time together and we really enjoy having the girls home all summer. We try to spend as much time as possible in the beautiful Michigan woods.
I like to put together appetizers and full menus. I'm a whiz with dishes that are beneficial to diabetics (two of my close friends and my step-Dad are diet controlled diabetics - so I'm always watching my menu choices when entertaining). Also, one of my daughters used to be allergic to soy, eggs and wheat - so I am fairly adept at "sub-ing" in for these allergy restrictions. Some of my famous dishes include; pumpkin pie, coconut cream pie, potato soup and chili. I make a killer taco dip and my baked white cheese dip is a gluten free, lo-carb and diabetic delight!
Most of my best recipes I don't share. It guarantees I'll get an invitation to come to parties, since my friends can't make my pies, cakes and cookies!
I've just published my first eCookbook, which is posted over at my blog (http://www.angiespangies.com). I really enjoyed working on it and plan to do many more.
I love to eat and it shows! My favorites include bread, soup, all sorts of potatoes and anything cheesy. Cookies are way up there on my list of "can't live without"! Be sure and check out my Cookie Cookbook!
