My Mother was great Welsh cook and I learned most of my cooking skills from her. She rarely ever followed a recipe. She would learn a new cooking technique and then apply it to whatever foodstuff she had on hand. Because she was born and raised in Wales, England, then latter moved to America, her dishes were always a unique combination of European and American influences. I try to emulate my Mother in the way I cook - except I use RecipeZar!
Down home, simple to prepare, comfort food (i.e. soup, stew, breads, pasta, etc...).
I also love to try foods, flavors, and products from all over the world, and I take delight in how the same ingredients can produce an entirely different dish in a different country/culture.
