about me

Hi there! I live in a tiny town on the west and quiet side of Lake of the Ozarks in Missouri. Time just moves at a much slower pace here in our vacation/tourist patch of the world. Summers are crazy with tourists, but when fall sweeps around the corner all is quiet and peaceful.
I am always on the lookout for new-to-me old cookbooks. I love to read the cookbooks to get ideas and inspiration. I particularly enjoy the ones that read like books. For the amount of cooks books I own it is surprizing just how little I ever follow a recipe. I am always and forever reinventing recipes and making them suit my family. I have an 18yr old son that just signed to play football next year at his first pick college and a lovely husband othat works overnights so dinner is when we get to spend time together during the week.

We, hubby and I, like to cook together on the weekends when we have more time together ~
My pet peeves: I have a few but I will share the one that drives me insane!!!!.. and since it has to do with food... I cannot handle being around noisey eaters. People who chew with their mouth open are by far the most inconsiderate in my book. I can understand a child who has not the knowledge ( or has not had the proper mealtime manner lessons ).. but a grown adult who still does this.. will it is ridiculous to say the least. I refuse to eat with a friend because of his manners. And he refuses to recognise that there is a problem. So we agree to never eat in the same room!

Favorite Foods:

I love Mexican Food.. but without the heat.. so does that count? I also love anything that involves cheese. Anything.. anykind. And Ironically, some of my favorite foods call for cream cheese.. which hubby despises. I suppose I love his Enchilades best and he loves my chicken and dumplin's.
