My favorite cookbook, well I guess I have 3...The Way to Cook, by Julia Child, the Low Fat Living Cookbook and The California Wine Country Cookbook II. I am "semi-retired", as I no longer work full time, but I have started a web site to sell my hand knit purses, shawls & scarves. I also sell them at local craft fairs and holiday boutiques. My husband and I moved to Suprise, Arizona at the end of January 2005. My husband is retired from being in the wine business. I love to cook (and we love to eat) and am always looking for new recipies to try. Recently my husband was put on a diabetes prevention diet, so we have eliminated white flour, sugar (as much as possible) potatoes, corn, carrots, raisins, pineapple and on and on! A few years ago he was put on a very low fat diet and I found that easier to deal with than the low carb, low sugar diet he is on now. Oh, well, I'll adjust my cooking cause I kinda want to keep him around and healthy! We've both lost weight on this new diet, so that's a good thing. I love Recipezaar, as I have found so many good, healthy recipes here. I hope you enjoy the recipes that I post as much as I have enjoyed the new ones I've found here.

Favorite Foods:

My favorite thing to cook, and a meal I always get requests for, is a pasta dish originally called Penne Pasta with Tomoatos, Gorgonzola and Fresh Herbs. Over the years I have modified the original recipe to suit our changed diet, but still get asked to make this for almost every pot-luck I go to, and it is a great vegetarian recipe. I am also "famous" for my Chicken and Andouille Gumbo, which is modified from a recipe I found in Chef Paul Prudhomme's cookbook entitled "Fork in the Road". My favorite restaurant in Southern California is Pinot Provence, in Arizona my husband and I love going to Kona Grill for their Avocado Egg Rolls and the Macadamia Nut Chicken.
