about me

I live up between Lake George and Saratoga Springs, New York. Half dutch, half Canadian. LOVE all kinds of ethnic recipes. Married to a beautiful man and have two small children (6&8). Used to be a upper executive, but am now after a few years staying home, work in a local elementary school as a teachers helper. I ADORE cooking. My passion of passions. People know that about me and are no fools when they invite me to their party! I used to be a bodybuilder (for 20 years), and still keep very fit and eat healthy, but now raise a family. The only reason I run and work out is so I can eat the fabulous recipies I find right here at Recipezaar! I don't believe in "low fat" anything...but I do believe in eating full fat, full flavor, but in portion control. In my spare time (?!) I am a substitute teacher in a elementary school. Now that I have found this website, it has become my new home. This is where I come to get ideas, recipies, laughter, friendship. I zip in to write reviews and inevitably end up printing out a bunch more! I LOVE the home made recipies that were handed down that are shared. It is truly amazing how connected we can become on this great big web! There is nothing cooler than making something someone's grandmother made for generations. I always feel so honored. Thank you all for sharing such tried and true recipies! I pop in every day. And every time I post a review, I'm printing out several more recipies to try! Thank you!!!!

I have to admit something...I love all foods and I'm addicted to this website! It's amazing I don't need double doors to get out of the house! I love all foods. I grew up in Northern New Jersey where ethnic foods run rampant, and miss that the most about living so far from culture. My favorite foods are the comfort foods I grew up with, Jewish, Russian/German, my best friends Latvian recipies, and the italians...mmmm those italians...more per square inch in Jersey than probably anywhere but Italy! I had no choice but to adopt their foods! I love trying new foods and create new meals every night right from this site. Thank you for creating a site which is so welcoming and giving. LA
