I discovered Recipezaar within the last year and I have been madly printing and trying new recipes. My DS 14 is almost afraid to ask what's for dinner. One time he asked me "Can't we just have something I recognize?" I like to cook, but am not willing to spend all day in the kitchen. Therefore, I like simpler recipes with ingredients that aren't hard to find. I do enjoy trying new recipes. I'm not very creative, but I can follow directions.

I guess I must really love potatoes, based on how many potato recipes I have tagged for making from Zaar!

After graduating high school, when I would go home for a visit, Mom would always make my favorite foods. I think fried apples was at the top of the list. She would use "June" (very tart) apples and very little sugar. I have been thinking about trying to recreate the recipe. One of my other old time favorites is homemade rolls stuffed with either ham or country ham.
