about me

I love to cook and try to use organic and healthy ingredients as much as possible, but I will use butter if it makes it taste better. Being the mom of a toddler, I lean more towards recipes that are fast and simple to put together but pack a powerful punch, flavor-wise. Just because it's quick or only uses one pot doesn't mean it has to be bland. I am also attempting (recently) to cook without using anything from a can, so do check out my recipes if you are trying to do the same. I am a stay at home mom as of this last year so I now have more time to play with home made recipes. My husband hunts and we both fish so most of my recipes will revolve around those staples, but I will try to get some of my mom's favorite recipes out of her to post as well.

Favorite Foods:

There is very little my family doesn't eat. Artichokes are about the only thing I haven't been able to serve them. My favorite cook books are Fannie Farmer (classic, and everything always comes out good!), Ina Garten's (all of them), any of the Cook's Magazine series, and Martha Stewart's Baking. Also love Alton Brown. I like making quick breads but don't have the patience for yeast bread most of the time, though I applaud anyone who does.
