I'm currently living in Vancouver, but I'm from Hong Kong. I love eating and cooking, preferably eating what I cook. I intended to go to cooking school, but sometimes life doesn't work out as planned, so I'm doing a degree in Vancouver studying International Relations. Whenever I'm not swamped with readings and papers I cook up a storm, trying different foods from all over the world.
I absolutely love Asian food since I grew up in Asia, but I find the heaviness in Western food to be extremely comforting. With such a globalized world it's easy to get asian and western spices and food, and so I like to experiment with different techniques and flavors (but of course sometimes they are just a flop). I discovered my love for turkey while celebrating thanksgiving here and am always trying new ways to use leftover turkey. My yearly favorite is a turkey fried rice that utilizes a bit of the gravy and also using fall veggies like carrots, corn and onions.
