about me

I live in the Midwest and am the mother of two handsome, young men. I am married to the most wonderful man ever created and am more in love now than when we married 29 years ago! I love all cookbooks, but I have to say that when I get in the trenches and need help, I have my collection of Southern Living cookbooks to help me. I am an avid reader and love football and track! If I am not reading, you can find me in my kitchen, trying some new recipe. My hubby is not the best critic, since he eats anything I put in front of him and always says it's wonderful!
I love the ocean, where we vacationed for years when our sons were young. That is where I would love to retire! I never get tired of it. It's always changing.
My husband is a locomotive engineer and I am an administrative assistant for a large corporation that owns hotels and restaurants. I love my job! I work for (they always want us to say work with)a great bunch of people. Hopefully in another 10 years or so, our sons will be out of college and my husband and I will be able to retire and travel.
Since our sons have left home, we have filled their vacancies with 2 girls-the 4 legged variety. Emmy and Chloe are great dogs with such wonderful personalities.They provide us with a lot of entertainment. It's like having 2 children again!
We are very active in our church and I am fellowship director so I get to plan all the meals and (as we all know, fellowship means food)fellowship nights. We try to think of something different for each one, but we're running out of ideas!

Favorite Foods:

I am known for being "The Cook" to all our friends and family. Our good friends have a daughter that is a new bride. Hardly a week goes by that she doesn't email me for a recipe or wants to know how to cook something for her new "meat and potatoes" husband.
I love to make pies and cobblers, but I love to make pastas and Cajun dishes also. We do like highly spiced foods, so my Jambalaya, Gumbo, barbeque shrimp are "Kicked up a notch!"
