about me

I have recently returned to work after a long period of unemployment (ok, it was like 5 months), so I'm not cooking a lot now. I prefer to just drop by a sub shop or grab a pre-made salad and some sushi from Loblaws on my way home from work. I do love new recipes. I have definitely increased my cooking efforts after I discovered Recipezaar. I often cook for two (BF and I), but will cook large portions I can live off for a few days because I think cooking meals for just one is silly.
I have baked a few times. I have a habit of waiting until the day before an event to try and bake with a brand new recipe. Luckily everything has turned out, and I've never shown up empty-handed or with something store bought.
I love animals; I have two kitties, two hermit crabs, a small aquarium, and a boyfriend.

Favorite Foods:

-My mum's mashed potatoes.
-My boyfriend's pasta sauce.
-"Kam Pong Gi" from Ho Su, a Korean-Japanese restaurant near Yonge & Eg in Toronto.
-Most Japanese food except sashimi. Just can't do it. I'm a disgrace to my people.
-A honey date chicken tagine recipe I make from a recipe in an AWW Cooking Classics cookbook.
-Hearty meat dishes, stews, casseroles, pies.
