I live in Arlington, middle of the Dallas/Fort Worth mess.
My grandmother had her own restaurant way back when, where people would come from miles around for her good cooking. My mother learned from her and I learned from my mother. Grandma gave me the "family recipe" for her pie crusts, which she didn't even give my mother. Sorry, I cannot share or she would have to kill me. ![]()
My passions would include something which is unrelated to cooking - that of storm chasing. I guess you could say I watch the clouds brew up something.
My pet peeves are bad table manners.
My favorite foods are Tex-Mex. I also like BBQ, pasta, chicken, and hearty soups on cold days.
My favorite restaurant is Shady Oaks BBQ in Keller followed by On The Border or El Arroyos, which we visit on a frequent basis.
There are two places in Michigan, ooops three, that I hit when I go there. One is a little root beer stand on teh wrong side of Saginaw, "Pixie" in Mt. Pleasant (famous for their coney dogs, if you eat enough, they will put your name on a metal plate and put it on the wall), and "Arnie's" in Grand Rapids.
