I am a Yankee transplant to the low country. My mom was English, so my cooking style reflects this. My favorite cookbook was McCall's Cookbook which is no longer in print. I've been married to a gourmand for 41 years, so I get lots of practice cooking. We have three daughters that I share recipes with and seven grandchildren — none old enough to cook yet, but I think we have some budding chefs!
Roast beef w/Yorkshire pudding, Christmas plum pudding w/brandy sauce, Roast turkey w/oyster dressing. My favorite restaurant is closed — it was Clinkerdagger Bickerstaff, & Petts. It was like walking into an English pub. The waitresses and waiters were dressed in 1800's style, the tables had regular stuffed chairs around them. It was a fun place to go with a lot of atmosphere and the only place I know that served Beef Wellington, my fave!
